Christine Avery Fall Festival: Community, Connection, and Joy
The YWCA of Asheville was delighted to participate in the Christine Avery Fall Festival at Asheville Mall, on Saturday, Oct. 10. The Festival was an uplifting community event filled with music, joy, laughter, and opportunities to connect. Women’s Empowerment Director Tangie Bowman had the pleasure of attending and representing the YWCA. Tangie shared information about our mission, programs, and commitment to empowering women and eliminating racism.
Tangie reported that from the moment she arrived,“the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of excitement. Families enjoyed the festivities, children had fun in the bouncy house, and music filled the space with energy and celebration. It was wonderful to see community members coming together, enjoying themselves, and learning more about the resources available to support them.”
One of the highlights of the event was the variety of organizations present and ready to share valuable resources with the community. Organizations such as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Housing Authority of Asheville, Read 2 Succeed, United Way, Self-Help Credit Union, demonstrated the importance of working together to meet the diverse needs of individuals and families. We were able to engage with community members, share information about our services, and build connections with other organizations that are equally committed to making a difference. Events like this provide an important space for organizations to increase awareness, strengthen partnerships, and ensure that people know where to turn for support.
A special thank-you goes to the Christine Avery organization for bringing the community together and creating such a positive and engaging experience. The YWCA of Asheville is grateful for this partnership and looks forward to continuing to work alongside organizations that share our commitment to community empowerment.
The CWA Fall Festival was truly an amazing event! It was a beautiful reminder that when we come together in the spirit of service, collaboration, and joy, we create stronger connections and a stronger community. We look forward to many more opportunities to serve and grow together!
