Get out the Vote - 2020

CLOSING EARLY, GENERAL ELECTION DAY

We are closing at noon to get out and vote. Ensuring access to the voting booth, especially for women of color, is an important part of the YWCA of Asheville’s commitment to eliminating racism and empowering women. Our staff is comprised of 40% people of color and 86% women. With all this in mind, we have chosen to close the building at noon on Nov. 3rd, the day of the General Election, in solidarity with our mission. We encourage our staff and our broader community to take this half-day off as an opportunity to exercise their civic rights. Use the time to go vote or volunteer, read a book about the voting process to your child, call your friends and family and remind them to vote, maybe give a ride to the polls to a neighbor or friend, your choice.

Your voice. Your vote. Your future.
