More than a third of adults in the U.S. can’t swim the length of a pool, according to the CDC. Due to historical racial discrimination, Black Americans are half as likely to know how to swim as White Americans. YWCA is working to change the statistics and disparities around swimming. We offer swim lessons to adults of all skill levels, including participants in our Diabetes Wellness & Prevention Program, to promote health and safety in and around water.

You don’t have to be a member to learn to swim at the YWCA!
YWCA has been providing high-quality swim instruction to women and families since the 1920’s! Generations have learned to swim at the YWCA. Although our YWCA Fitness Center members do get special lesson pricing, we offer free Swim Lesson Accounts for non-members to sign up for lessons online.
