Self Defense: a 6-Week Series

Join us on Thursdays from 6pm – 7:15pm February 13th – March 19th for a Self-Defense series taught by Jon Wiener with Chris Van Wandelen as we empower our members with self defense strategies while promoting health through martial arts. 

Week 1 (February 13th): Stand-up fighting; stances, punches, elbows, knees, kicks

Week 2 (February 20th): Release moves, Jiu-Jitsu, and ground fighting

Week 3 (February 27th): Legal aspects, strategies for fighting; combinations

Week 4 (March 5th): Weapon usage and defense

Week 5 (March 12th): Advanced concepts, other arts, e.g. Tai Chi, Aikido usage

Week 6 (March 19th): Review and Course Summary

Sessions are progressive; participants are encouraged to enroll in the whole series, however registration for individual sessions is also available.

Cost: $5 one-time registration & equipment fee plus a per-session fee of $0 for members or $5 for non-members
