SUMMER CAMP WEEKLY SCHEDULE* 

Week 1

Theme: PEP Theatre & Design

Dates: June 19 - June 23

Come enjoy a week of learning and performing an in-class drama! We’ll weave in math and design concepts as we create costumes and sets for our play.

Field Trip: Splashville Water Park

 

Week 2

Theme: PEP Science Explorers

Dates: June 26 - June 30

Come and explore the great out-of-doors: nature’s laboratory. This is a week full of nature hiking, identifying plants and animals, and a fun picnic in the park.

Field Trip: UNCA Botanical Gardens / Picnic in the Park


Week 3

Theme: PEP Tech & Seek

Dates: July 3 - July 7 (closed Tuesday, July 4)

Why sit back and watch when you can take pictures? This week we'll learn to observe the world around us as we take photographs, and learn the process of picture taking. 

Field Trip: Asheville Pizza and Company for a movie experience


Week 4

Theme: PEP in the Water

Dates: July 10 - July 14

Splish & Splash this week at a water park while we learn about the science of water.

Field Trip: Waynesville Water Park


Week 5

Theme: PEP Van Gogh

Dates: July 17 - July 21

Learn about Vincent Van Gogh, Picasso, and many other famous artists. Spend this week in the museum, galleries, and the Center for Creativity & Design. You will be your own creative genius.

Week 6

Theme: PEP Olympic

Dates: July 24 - July 28

PEP Olympics will be a fun filled week of sport and athletic competitions. “We are the Champions” will be our song.

Field Trip: Rock climbing

 

Week 7

Theme: PEP Saves the Planet

Dates: July 3 - August 4

View the solar system and find out just how close we are to new adventures in space. Learn about star gazing and preparing for the summer eclipse.

Field Trip: Jellystone Park


Week 8

Theme: PEP Read-Set-Go

Dates: August 7 - August 11

Read, Set, Go! This week we will read 30 minutes each day and hold a READ Mania challenge where students compete to see who can read the most by the end of the week.

Week 9

Theme: PEP Prepares for the Solar Eclipse

Dates: August 14 - August 18

In our final week, we will learn about the solar eclipse taking place on August 21st. We’ll also celebrate the end of our summer camp season with our own PEP Talent Show. Students will get creative with a fashion show, drama performance, music, songs, and instruments.

 

*Schedule is subject to change and some activities / field trips may be weather-dependent. 

 

Cost:

  • $160 per week for members
  • $180 per week for non-members or $40 per day
  • $25 family registration fee (waived if registered before 3/31)
  • Vouchers are accepted
