Childcare

The YWCA of Asheville wants to help working families nurture and care for their children.

The YW operates our licensed, 5-Star Early Learning Program (6 weeks - 5 years) child care center, which provides full-time care for 80 children. We will be expanding this program starting in summer 2018 to serve 42 additional children. To help working families afford our child care services, the YW participates in the NC Subsidized Child Care program. The Early Learning Program serves 50% private pay and 50% voucher families. YWCA also offers Early Head Start and NC Pre-K in our child care center.

Other families need short-term child care while the parent is working on their education, looking for a job, or otherwise seeking economic self-sufficiency. The YW’s Empowerment Childcare provides quality, free care to parents in transition, participating in other agency programs, and for our Fitness Center family members while at the gym.

For families who don't qualify for free short-term care, our trained Pay-by-the-Hour Childcare staff are here to take care of children so busy moms and dads can take care of errands, doctor's appointments, meetings - or take care of themselves with an afternoon or night out!
